Poll: Do you worry about your boss snooping through your private messages?

Europe’s top court has ruled that employers can read private online messages sent at work.

A EUROPEAN COURT ruled on Tuesday that employers are within their rights to read private online messages sent by workers during office hours.

The European Court of Human Rights – whose decisions are binding on Ireland, among a number of EU countries – made the ruling in the case of a Romanian engineer who was fired after his company discovered he was using Yahoo Messenger to chat to his fiancee and brother.

Would the judgement make you think twice about the way you use the internet at work?

This morning’s poll: Do you worry about your employer snooping through your private messages?
