Enda fan wrote to 1986 Taoiseach to say people in the west happy with Kenny's latest appointment

The letter was sent from Drimnagh in Dublin.

TAOISEACH GARRET FITZGERALD received a letter from a fan of Enda Kenny’s back in 1986 who said “a lot of people in the West are pleased with the appointment of Enda Kenny as Minister of State”.

Kenny was Minister of State for Youth Affairs from 13 February 1986 to 21 January 1987.

The letter, sent from Drimnagh in Dublin, was dated 21 February – just eight days after the appointment.

The sender also congratulated the then Taoiseach on winning the confidence motion in the Dáil.
