Enda Kenny phones US radio show... and gets hung up on

Enda was just trying to wish listeners of Irish Radio a happy new year – but producers thought it was a prank.

TAOISEACH ENDA KENNY must have thought he was doing a good turn when he called to wish radio host Adrian Flannelly and his Irish-American listeners a happy new year – but it didn’t quite go to plan.

When Kenny made the call to his fellow Mayoman Flannelly at Irish Radio over the New Year, he spoke to producer Aine Sheridan – who thought the call was a prank, James O’Shea writes on Irish Central.

She politely cut the Taoiseach off, forcing him to call back and protest his genuineness. Only after giving his private mobile number was he allowed through.
