I really tried to watch it, but so glad I switched over to the Madrid and City game.
@ciaran o dowd: City and Madriad was good games, but I won’t say classic. The home leg for City should be a cracker. Not sure why comments closed on the report for this and the Arsenal game.

“Spirited” is not a word I would use. The Prima Donnas didn’t live up to their fake reputation. Sometimes, listening to RTE, you would be forgiven for thinking that we had only one or two players.

I think some of the comments above are very harsh, England are currently ranked 2nd in the world, France are currently third. Of course we would like to win or even draw these matches, but you must acknowledge the teams we are playing.

Why is the word spirited used over and over again with this team? Eventually you will have to objectively analyse a game and not be afraid of being anti women’s sports, it’s actually more patronising not to be honest and call their performance as spirited.

@Sean O’Dhubhghaill: Anyone who says Katie McCabe is highly overated ,muck in the last two games but is immune to substitution (in fairness the last managers fate for taking her on wouldn’t give you a warm feeling) .The manager seems a total fit for the FAI ,Dub with loads of chat but totally out of her depth, taking off Heather Payne last night was inexplicable, so in summary it’s got to be all sweetness and light or your dubbed anti women’s sport and cancelled.
Terrible performance as usual…. only started playing in the last 10 minutes…if the manager doesn’t believe in the players, the players won’t believe in themselves.
@Ronan Skelly: Now you can see that Vera wasn’t to bad after all. Playing in the B group is a lot easyer than the A group.
McCabe is revered as a footballer. Playing as keft back, she was responsible for the French goal and also the 1st English goal last night. But that’s ok, she’s Katy McCabe.
The women always wanted equality with the men. Now they have it. They’re both brutal.

Watched some of the game last night, with a 4 4 1 set up they didn’t stand a chance of threatening the uk goal don’t mind scoring which the UK team had full control of the game having said that they only scored 1 goal from play giving away 2 penalties by the same player for the same offence was inexcusable, but anyway onwards and the only way is upwards, com on girls you can do it
