The incident happened at a cemetery near Ennis in Co Clare last night.

ONE MAN WAS hospitalised and three others were arrested after a public order incident at a cemetery near Ennis in Co Clare last night.

The incident happened at around 7.30pm last when it is understood that a fight broke out at Drumcliffe Cemetery on the outskirts of Ennis.

A man in his 20s was asssaulted and taken to Ennis Hospital where he was later released.

Gardaí said this morning that three men, one in their early 20s and the other two in their late teens, were arrested and taken to Ennis Garda Station where they can be held for up to 24 hours.

Weapons “of some nature” were also seized. There was no damage to the graveyard, a garda spokesperson said this morning.
