Poll: Have you ever tried reusable nappies?

Protecting their world might start with their nappies.

WITH THE NEW RECYCLING deposit scheme currently gathering momentum through the Dáil, it’s worthwhile considering the impact that looking after your little one can have on the environment.

And unfortunately, nappies are not something that can ever be put in a recycling bin (in fact, one will ruin an entire recycling bin’s contents) – yet they remain one of the most common reasons for complaint from management companies.

So, what are the nappy alternatives if you are worried about your family’s impact on the environment?

Firstly, there are washable, cloth nappies such as BumGenius that you can use from the moment they’re born. Alternatively, there are biodegradable, chlorine-free versions like Moltex made with renewable raw materials. Or you can even keep it old-school with terry nappies.

So, tell us – have you ever tried environmentally-friendly nappies?

Poll Results:

No, I've never tried them (253)
Yes, I have tried reusable washable nappies (108)
Yes, I have tried multiple kinds of them (14)
Yes, I have tried biodegradable nappies (5)

If you’ve found a solution to nappies that’s more environmentally friendly, share it in the comments!
