ESB NETWORKS ARE working to restore power to over 1,000 customers after strong winds caused outages overnight.

Meanwhile, some homes in Dublin 1 and Dublin 3 lost supply due to a fire at a substation in Summerhill.

Dublin Fire Brigade received a call about the fire at 9.15 last night and two fire pumps attended the scene with an overseeing officer.

ESB Networks say the supply has been restored to customers affected.
