Exiting examinership: 25 jobs saved at Wexford Viking Glass Ltd

The company, which has been trading for 75 years, entered examinership last October.

WEXFORD VIKING GLASS LTD, which entered examinership last October, has successfully exited the process.

The Wexford-based business, which has been operating for 75 years, is a manufacturer and supplier of energy efficient double-glazed units.

Having presented a survival plan to the High Court last year, the scheme of arrangement which had been put in place was today accepted by Mr Justice McGovern, allowing the company to exit examinership as a going concern and in the process save 25 jobs.

The examiner who had been appointed to the company, Neil Hughes, said that the successful outcome was a “tribute to the continued efforts and support of the company’s employees, partners, suppliers and customers.”

The successful conclusion of this process once again underlines the value of examinership in facilitating the survival of fundamentally good companies and the jobs they provide.
