Explosive device found outside house in Tallaght

The IED was found outside a house in Springfield in the early hours of this morning.

THE ARMY BOMB Disposal Team was called to a house in Tallaght in the early hours of this morning following the discovery of an explosive device.

The team was deployed to the house on Raheen Drive in Springfield at 1.05am after responding to a call from Gardaí and made safe a viable improvised explosive device which was found outside the house.

The IED was removed from the scene for further analysis and the remains will then be handed over to Gardaí.

The Army Bomb Disposal Team has been called out 141 times so far this year, and has made safe 25 IEDs.
