Facebook experiences technical issues across Europe

Some of the site’s users in Africa and the Middle East have also been experiencing access problems today.

EUROPEAN USERS of social networking site Facebook may have experienced some issues in accessing it this morning due to a technical issue.

In a statement released to Reuters, the company said that technical difficulties were making the site unavailable “for a number of our users in Europe”.

The issue now appears to have been resolved, but it is unclear how many were affected by the problem.

According to ZDNet, users in over two dozen European countries and several African and Middle Eastern countries experienced problems in accessing the site today. It also reports that the issue is likely to be DNS-related.
