Fahey defamation action against Irish Independent settled

FIANNA FÁIL TD FRANK FAHEY’S defamation action against the Irish Independent has been settled. RTÉ reports that an apology from the newspaper was read out in court today, saying an April 2006 article regarding Fahey was untrue. The article had claimed Fahey had failed to declare and register an interest in US property.  The newspaper apologised for the great distress caused to Fahey.
