A MAN WHO was arrested yesterday in relation to fake documents seized during garda searches has been released without charge.
The man in his 40s, who is believed to be from north Africa, was arrested yesterday and detained in a north city garda station under legislation which covers terrorism offences.
Gardaí from the Special Detective Unit working with London’s Met Police had searched a number of properties in Dublin as part of an ongoing operation targeting possession of fraudulent documents.
Today they said the man in his 40s was released from garda custody last night. A file will now be prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

@Beachmaster: Maybe they’ve changed the article but I don’t see it anywhere written that yer man was an ISIS member. Are you reading terrorism legislation as equaling ISIS? Cause that’s a bit of a leap, what with any number of terrorist groups on the African continent & Ireland. When you work with international partners on legal matters, you have to make sure that the offence which is been investigated in the foreign country is also an offence in this country. Terrorism legislation usually covers those caveats, where as of wouldn’t get the same like for like coverage with something like road traffic acts (eg if a person was to fraudulently copy a car tax disc you’d find yourself stumped as they don’t have a tax disc in the U.K.)
But like I said, maybe they changed the article.

@Matt Connolly: A lousy attempt to try and turn this into a race issue. e.g. if an ISIS suspect was from the Caucasus region I would have no problem with them being deported.
Not all Muslims and not all Islamic extremists are ‘brown’. Sit down and educate yourself.
@Matt Connolly: Internment was only ever used on Irish people in Ireland now we have gotten rid of them and they have been replaced with sharia loving terrorists. We got rid of the tight grip of the christian church on Ireland and now Islam is tightening its grip on us, when The IRA were a big problem we could hardly travel between here and Britain, now you can run between any country you want to regardless of where you are from.

Deport him and everyone linked to the documents immediately. Learn from the mistakes of other countries for the sake of the Irish people. We cannot tolerate the insanity this cult brings with it wherever it goes. We all know what will happen. People will be murdered in the streets. Wake up ffs

@johnp: It would not surprise me to learn that he may claim to be the exact type of person whom he is trying to recruit and facilitate the murder of and they’ll probably believe him! How disconnected are politicians and the media from reality? EVERYONE KNOWS what is going on. It’s unbelievable to witness.

The journal have a great way of wording their headlines, “released without charge” to garner outrage and then in the actual article they add on “pending a file to DPP”
Released?? To go where? Deport the fuc@er!
