6 summer events for keeping bored kids entertained - from air displays to hip-hop classes

Here’s how to stop cries of ‘I’m boooooored’ this weekend.

Bray Air Display: Enjoy out of this world aerobatics as planes traverse the sky in Bray, along with a host of family friendly activities. This is one of the best family events of the summer, but try to take public transport, as parking can be difficult.

City Spectacular: This weekend the Laya City Spectacular is heading to Cork’s Fitzgerald Park and it’s a riotously fun day out for the whole family, complete with circus performers, experiments and all kinds of multi sensory fun.

Festival Of Curiosity: 14 venues will transform into a family friendly carnival of interactive installations, pop up playgrounds and street performances for the weekend as a part of the Festival of Curiosity in Dublin this month. It’s a wonderful way to explore the city.

Explore Dublin Castle: Dublin Castle is running family friendly tours each Saturday until the end of July, where families will be allowed to explore this gorgeous building with a tour guide along to help with some historical background.

Day of Dance: Cabinteely Park is hosting a day of free hip-hop dance classes for the whole family this weekend with Robert Connor from Dance Theatre of Ireland. From toddlers to grandparents, all are welcome.

The Liberties Festival: Find community in the capital by heading to this brilliant family-friendly festival, now in its 48th year. With a jam-packed programme of mostly free events over five days, it’s a fantastic opportunity to spend time with the family in the city.
