DUBLIN

The Shape Of Things: Set in a soft and touchable environment, Starcatchers and Branar are on hand to introduce your very small children to theatre on Saturday. Taking place in Draiocht, they will tell the story of shapes through puppetry, object theatre, music and sound.

Bluefire Street Fest: Yet again Smithfield Square is being taken over for some free family fun this weekend. This weekend Bluefire Street Fest is celebrating multiculturalism with loads of live music, workshops and a designated kid’s area.

Whoosh: Collapsing Horse and the Fringe Festival are bringing Whoosh to The Lir theatre this weekend and it’s a must for would-be musicians. Three musicians will be on hand to show how breath makes beautiful music in lots of surprising and amazing ways.

All Ireland Final Month: The National Museum of Ireland – Archeology is hosting a special tour of artefacts from the counties in the hurling and GAA football finals through the years this weekend. A must for fans of the sport.

Rainbow Run Dun Laoghaire: One of Ireland’s biggest fun runs, the Rainbow Run is coming to Dun Laoghaire pier this Saturday and there’s no age restriction to the race, so it’s a brilliant activity for the whole family. Wear white and get ready to be pelted with a rainbow of paint as you run the course.

Bluefire Street Fest Bluefire Street Fest

Outdoor Cinema: Wicklow town’s first outdoor cinema is coming to the Abbey Grounds this Saturday with a showing of Mamma Mia. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket and settle in for some al fresco movie time.

GALWAY

Connemara Novelty Pony Show: With a fancy dress competition for ponies and their riders, a jockey and groom jumping class and a mini handler and young handler competition, this is a young jockey’s dream day out. All proceeds go to Connemara Therapeutic Riding.
