Here’s what’s on in the fresh air around Ireland this weekend.

GALWAY

Connemara Watersports Day: Glassilaun Beach hosts its annual Watersports Day in aid of CARI (Children At Risk Ireland) this Sunday, with activities including boat rides, kayaking, scuba-diving, children’s races, bouncy castle and a slide.

Suits: The whole family. When: Sun Aug 12, 1 – 6pm. Cost: Free but donations welcome. Find out more here

DUBLIN

Garden Quest at Dublin Castle: Dubh Linn Garden is the venue for a fantastic interactive family tour this Sunday, where families will have the chance to explore all the sculptures and plants, and their significance to Dublin Castle.

Suits: The whole family. When: Sun Aug 12, 3 – 4pm. Cost: Free, but booking is recommended. Find out more here

Dogs Day Out at Moran Park: Bring the family pooch along to Moran Park this Saturday for a whole day of fun for families and their loyal friends. Kids can get their faces painted, make customised dog collars – and there’ll be experts from Ark Vet Care in Dun Laoghaire on hand with advice on dog grooming and canine care.

CORK

Cork Light Orchestra at Fitzgerald’s Park: The CLO plays everything from waltzes to trad to rock n roll, and if the weather’s good they’ll be a great picnic soundtrack. This is the final of three afternoon concerts the orchestra have played at Fitzgerald’s Park this summer.

Suits: This is an all ages gig. When: Sun Aug 12th, 2 – 4 pm. Cost: Free. Find out more here.  

WICKLOW

Greenan Maze: Take to the country with a visit to Greenan Maze this weekend. Navigate this beautifully cultivated Celtic hedga maze, standing on half an acre, with a pond in the middle and a viewing tower above. Plus, you can finish up with tea and cake in the on site cafe.
