AN EPISODE OF the popular animated series ‘Family Guy’ has been withdrawn by its US TV network after internet users spliced clips together to create apparent references to the Boston Marathon attacks.
The episode, which had first aired only last month, showed protagonist Peter Griffin driving over competitors to win the famed marathon – and, separately, a scene where Griffin accidentally detonates a bomb when using a mobile phone given to him by a terrorist.
Clips had begun appearing on YouTube and other sites, splicing the two clips together to create a reference to Monday’s attacks at the Boston Marathon, where two bombs were detonated close to the finishing line, killing three people.
The Fox network, which airs the cult series, said the episode had now been removed from its own website and from the on-demand TV streaming service Hulu.
The show’s creator, Seth MacFarlane, said on Twitter that the edited clip was “abhorrent”.
“The event was a crime and a tragedy, and my thoughts are with the victims,” he said.

BTW for those not of the X files following genre,the lone gunmen were the four computer geeks that moonlighted for Mulder& Scully.Fox tried an offshoot seris that folded after a season.

I couldn’t give two hundred f*cks what was on Family Guy, it’s pure comedic genius and will always brighten up my days, if people can’t laugh at the absurdity of life on Earth played out through an animated series then we might as well make a universal law condemning anyone who likes humour to death.
Is the Boston tragedy funny? No.
Has it got anything to do with Family Guy? No, so it’s pointless deleting the episode/clips.
I wouldnt call it comedic genius. Used to love the show just not really to bothered about it anymore, yeah I still have agiggle at some of the stupid stuff on it but some of the jokes just go on and on and on. All them , its not like the time I became ******** wreck me bulb.

It’s funny cos its not the real world,cartoons are good like that,satire n stuff.i mean a talking dog,………whilst looking at real world stuff and real footage of that event,or any tragedy is rough,if a clip was created purely based on that bombing I would not condone it.tasteless.

This seems terribly hypocritical of Seth! Family Guy has made it’s name for a no holds barred attitude to absolutely everything and it’s what people love about the show! Seems odd that there’s been a sudden change of heart on this one isolated incident!

We know its a cartton and its not real, why delete a whole episode just because someone spliced something together, thats hypocritical. Personally I couldnt give a flying feck that what they say on the show or even about the spliced together video, its just funny how to take the piss out of everyone else but when someone jokes about them they get all upset.
