Man dies following two-car collision in Cork

It happened near Bandon yesterday at 6pm.

ONE PERSON HAS died following a two-car collision in Cork last night.

The crash happened at 6pm near Coolfadda, Bandon.

One of the drivers, a 30-year-old man, was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the second vehicle, a woman aged 37, was was also taken to hospital with what is described as non-life threatening injuries.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.

A forensic examination of the scene is currently being carried out.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who was travelling on the R586 at Coolfadda between 5.40pm and 6pm to contact them at Bandon Garda Station on 023 8852200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666111, or any Garda Station.
