Fatal road traffic collision in Mullingar

A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene earlier this evening.

A MAN IN his 20s has died this evening after being struck by a lorry in Mullingar in Co Westmeath.

The incident occurred on the N4 Mullingar by-pass at approximately 5.45pm. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Forensic collision investigators are at the scene and the westbound carriageways of the N4 are currently closed to traffic, with diversions in place.
