Thatched cottages on fire in Adare, Limerick

The blaze is causing traffic chaos.

THATCHED COTTAGES IN the tourist village of Adare, Co Limerick are up in flames.

The fire started at around 1pm this afternoon.

Emergency services are at the scene including six fire trucks and three water tankers.

It’s understood that three of the four cottages in a row have been damaged.

Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.

Limerick City and County Councillor Daniel Butler posted a message on social media saying,

So sad seeing the Adare Cottages on fire. Really hope our great fire service can get it under control and minimise the damage.

“It is the white cottages from after the Blue Door down. Terrible blow to the village.”
