Man arrested after ambulance crew members injured in early-morning incident

They did not sustain serious injuries.

AN INVESTIGATION IS underway after two Dublin Fire Brigade members sustained minor injuries while on duty.

The incident occurred at 1.35am this morning on Parliament St, gardaí said.

It is understood one person sustained an injury to their hand and attended hospital.

The Rathfarnham Fire Station ambulance crew were attending to a patient when a man became aggressive towards the patient. The patient was put in the ambulance for their safety and gardaí were contacted.

The two crew members were injured, though not seriously, and one attended hospital for their injury.

One man was arrested in connection with the incident. He is believed to have subsequently been released from custody.
