Woman in her 80s dies in house fire in Dublin

AN ELDERLY WOMAN died in a house fire in Dublin early this morning.

Emergency services were called to a house in Cabra West at 3.42am today.

Three fire appliances, an emergency tender and a Dublin Fire Brigade ambulance attended the scene.

The woman, aged in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was removed to the city morgue in Marino.

The scene was preserved for a technical examination. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

The fire was brought under control and an investigation by gardaí and fire officers into its cause is underway.
