Firearms seized and three arrested in Dublin

Three people in Dublin have been arrested as part of an ongoing operation into dissident republican activity and organised crime.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED three people and seized three firearms in Dublin tonight, as part of an ongoing operation into dissident republican activity and organised crime.

Gardaí attached to the Special Detective Unit searched a house on Harmonstown Rd, Dublin 5, this evening. During the course of the search, Gardai found three handguns.

Two men and one woman, all of whom are aged in their 20s were arrested. They are being detained in Blackrock Garda  station under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended.

The investigation is ongoing.
