A MAN WHO was hit by a firework at a fast food outlet in Belfast is still being treated in hospital, two weeks on from the incident.
Investigating officers have issued a fresh appeal for information today – and have circulated an image of the brand of firework rocket that caused the man’s injuries.
“The firework has been identified as one from the ‘Heroes and Villains’ series, made by Bright Star,” Detective Sergeant Michael Hawthorne of the PSNI said.
The manufacturer has not supplied this particular firework to any Northern Ireland outlets so I would ask anyone who knows anything about this type of firework in the local community to make contact with us and assist us in this investigation.
The rocket was dropped through the doorway of the fast food venue on Alliance Avenue at around 9.15pm on the night of Friday 14 October by an “unknown male,” according to police.
“The man was taken to hospital for treatment to his burn injuries where he still remains at this time,” a statement said.
Said Detective Sergeant Hawthorne:
“I would also continue to appeal to anyone who knows anything else about this incident to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1319 of 14/10/16.
