Tears and colouring in: New students start "big school"

It takes us all back…

WE’VE BEEN THERE; the schoolbag, the uniform, the confusion between a corridor and a caravan (just me?).

Today, primary school students around Ireland started back for another year and that meant another back of junior infants.

With that, came tears, tantrums and separation anxieties. And that was just the parents.

Little Kyra Duncan wasn’t happy about her first day of school today at Gardiner Street School on Belvedere Court in Dublin.

She didn’t want to leave her mam.

But then she found a new best friend in Ellie Ledden and all was right with the world.

Also making friends were Lucy Molloy and Yifei Daniel Xu as their new teacher Ms Beakey looked on at Central Model Infant’s School in Malborough Street

Noemi Clim got some reassurance from sister Ozana

But still found the whole thing a little overwhelming
