Buying a new home? Come to an evening of exclusive tips on finding the right place

Join us for insights from Daft.ie, plus tips from estate agents and more.

‘SO WHEREABOUTS are you looking?’

It’s a question every prospective buyer has heard (and asked) a thousand times. But which neighbourhoods are good value? Where are prices out of control? What would insiders advise?

Buying a home is stressful, and there are a lot of tricky decisions along the way. That’s why we’re bringing together some of Ireland’s leading experts to answer all of the questions above – and more – at an informal evening event designed especially for first-time buyers.

At the Home Experience Event with Daft.ie and KBC Bank, you’ll get insights on the best value neighbourhoods in the country right now, based on exclusive Daft.ie data and market analysis. There will also be insider tips from estate agents and advice on how new tech can help you choose a neighbourhood and a home. (Plus, wine and snacks.)

Tickets to the event on Thursday November 2 at the CHQ Building in Dublin are completely free. All you have to do is register by sending an email with your name and contact details to events@thejournal.ie with the subject line ‘Home Experience Event’.

Attendees will also have the chance to try out the groundbreaking VR technology being used to explore properties as part of the Experience Your World partnership with KBC and TheJournal.ie.

The speakers on the night will be:

  • Ronan Lyons, chief economist at Daft.ie, on how to find the right neighbourhood right now – using exclusive insights from Daft.ie data
  • Andy O’Donoghue, tech journalist, on how virtual reality is giving buyers new ways to explore homes and neighbourhoods
  • Mark Stafford, DNG estate agents, on how to stay one step ahead in the Dublin market
  • Conor McGowan, head of mortgages at KBC Bank, on how to pick a path through the mortgage process

They’ll all be taking part in a Q&A session afterwards.

When the speakers have finished, attendees can enjoy some food and drink and try out a full VR experience. Mortgage experts, solicitors, and a team from Daft.ie will also be on hand to answer any further questions.

The Home Experience Event with Daft.ie and KBC Bank is happening at 6pm on Thursday, November 2 at the CHQ Building in Dublin. Tickets are free. To register, simply send your name, email and phone number to events@thejournal.ie with the subject line ‘Home Experience Event’.

It must be so difficult having a child with special needs. But it does seem to bring the best out in people. Well done to you Jennifer for being the type of mother we could all learn from. And that 12 yr old boy is some hero. God bless ye both and hats off to ye.

Jennifer what a wonderful mother you are to your two children. Caring for them in such a loving and selfless way when you yourself must have a hard time of it with this condition yourself. Some people have a heavy load to carry on their shoulders. You are an inspiration. Wishing you and your family all the best.

Fairplay to her, very deserving. Though it was unfortunate that on SixOne when the camera cut to her 3 year old playing a game on a tablet, it was the Grand Theft Auto (rated 18). She was in the middle of carjacking somebody and the voice over was Jennifer saying “You always need to be watching them”.
You couldn’t script it. Whoever was in charge of editing that footage could not have missed that…

That is only something that a mother could do and Jennifer this is something in life that only a mother understands and you will be well rewarded. I know people who have no children. it is so sad, the greatest pleasure in life is your own child or children you are blessed life is not easy but there is millions of couples who would love to have what you have and i hope that you and your children have a long and happy life i wish you all well
