Five arrested in Garda investigation into organised crime

Planned searches have been taking place across Dublin as part of the investigation into drug trafficking, firearms offenses and money laundering.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED five men as part of a search operation targetting organised crime in Dublin.

Planned searches have been taking place at houses and businesses across the city since this morning as part of the investigation into drug trafficking, firearms offenses, money laundering and other organised crime activity.

Twenty searches have been carried out so far today resulting in the five arrests. The arrested men range in ages from their mid 20s to  mid 30s.

The planned searches were carried out by gardaí from the Garda National Drugs Unit along with the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB), local Drugs Units and other units from Garda National Support Services.

The operation is ongoing this afternoon.
