Five arrested over ammunition seizure

Three men and two women are being held after a gun, ammunition and cash were seized during a search of a car last night.

GARDAÍ IN NENAGH have arrested five people following a search of a car on the M7 in Tipperary.

During the search at Knockalton, patrol duty Gardaí found a sawn-off shotgun, ammunition and cash.

Three men and two women were arrested and the scene and are currently being detained at Nenagh, Thurles and Templemore Garda stations under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

The three men are aged between 19 and 22 and the females are 19 and 20.
