Five-year-old seriously injured after being hit by a car in Wexford

The boy received serious injuries after being struck by a car this morning.

A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy is seriously injured in hospital after he was hit by a car in Co Wexford this morning.

The incident happened at Mulhurrig, near Kiltealy in north Wexford this morning when the boy was hit by a car.

He was being treated at Wexford General Hospital but has since been transferred to a hospital in Dublin.

Gardaí say the matter is under investigation.

The road between Kiltealy and Killane remains sealed off for forensic examination and gardaí at Enniscorthy are appealing for any witnesses to the accident to contact them on 053 923 3534.
