Meet Seán: This video shows how homelessness impacts children like him - and how you can help

This Christmas, the greatest gift you can give a child is a home, so donate to Focus Ireland today.

IMAGINE BEING BORN into a world where circumstances are already against you.

This is the reality for children in Ireland who are born into homelessness – like Seán.

Having a parent who is experiencing homelessness means Seán is at a higher risk of preterm birth and a lower birth weight.

As he grows from baby to toddler and beyond, a lack of space and kitchen facilities in emergency accommodation could put Seán at risk of delayed brain development and malnourishment. And as a teen, he may be as much as 18 months behind his peers in educational development.

In the video above, Focus Ireland showcases what the life of Seán – a child born into homelessness – may look like as he develops and grows up.

As of September this year, 2,344 children were recorded as homeless and relying on emergency homeless accommodation in Ireland.

This is why intervention from charities like Focus Ireland is so vital. By donating to Focus Ireland, children will be given the best supports during homelessness – and the fastest route out of it.

Watch the video above now, and see how the trajectory of a child’s life can be changed with the help of your donation this Christmas.

Focus Ireland’s goal is to end homelessness. This Christmas, the greatest gift you can give a child is a home. Please donate to Focus Ireland today.
