Careful, it's fierce foggy out...

Met Éireann has issued a ‘yellow’ fog alert

CAREFUL IF YOU’RE getting behind the wheel this morning — much of the country appears to be shrouded in a thick, soupy fog.

Conditions are so opaque, in fact, that Met Éireann has issued a ‘yellow’ fog warning for Leinster, Cavan and Monaghan.

This was the scene on Dublin’s Bull Alley Street at around 6am…

TheJournal.ie TheJournal.ie

The thick fog is causing treacherous driving conditions for motorists this morning, with a number of incidents being reported around the country.

There’s also a warning for drivers on travelling on the M9 this morning:

Frost, ice and dense fog patches will gradually clear slowly through the morning, according to the weather service.

And on the bright side, most areas will be dry today.

Silver linings and all that.
