One of the most extraordinary (and decadent) houses in the US is on sale for $85 million...

Let’s have a nose around.

A MOTORCYCLE IN the living room? Check.

Two bars? Check.

A separate lift just for cars to get to the underground carpark? Check. Because hey, why not?

One of the most extraordinary homes for sale in Beverly Hills 90210 comes complete with everything you’d ever need (and quite a few things you probably wouldn’t too).

And it would want to. At a jaw-dropping $85 million (€67 million), the property is one of the most expensive homes currently up for sale anywhere in the world.

The mansion comes with its own website which describes it as a “work of art that thoroughly raises the bar for architecture and design,” warning any potential buyers to “be prepared for an overwhelming sensory experience unlike any you’ve felt before”.

It’s not exaggerating. Well, maybe slightly.

The house was developed by a property mogul who made his fortune selling handbags through the QVC television channel and department stores.

“Clearly, the buyer that I’m trying to attract is a very narrow group of people,” Makowsky told Bloomberg during a tour of the house.

“It’s the super-wealthy people that might own a big mega-yacht for $250 million, or they own a big Gulfstream plane for $100 million”.

Here are the gritty details: The two-storey mansion has almost twice as many bathrooms as bedrooms (15 compared to 8).

It has a wine cellar, two fully-stocked bars, a gym, a game room and an infinity pool.

So far, so standard for Hollywood mansions aimed at the super-rich.

But then it also has a giant man-cave beside the underground carpark; toilets which cost $5,600 each;  closets which are bigger than the average Irish living room; table settings designed by Roberto Cavalli which cost £3,700 each; and an 18-seat luxury cinema with doors covered in Italian lizard skin.

The house is being sold fully furnished, so you can simply move into it – which makes that $85 million price tag seem slightly more understandable now. Slightly.

“I want to create and design things that I am proud of and that people will die for or love,” Makowsky told Bloomberg.
