The Ford Focus RS puts a smile on your face no matter where you drive it

This week’s dream car is a powerful and engaging pocket rocket.

IF I HAD the money I’d buy…

A hot hatch pocket rocket with 350hp to play with. A car that is not only buckets of fun to drive but super engaging too. A car that looks stunning and sounds amazing. I’d buy a wicked Ford Focus RS.

Why a Ford Focus RS?

The Ford Focus RS is a car that lives up to the hype. It is just brilliant to drive as well as being super practical as a day-to-day car. You can do the school run and then hit the track to try out the ‘drift mode’ function before heading off to do the weekly shop. It has a cracking four-cylinder turbo engine and four-wheel drive with torque vectoring helping it sprint from standing to 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds. It’s practical, powerful and playful. What more do you want?

What’s special about this particular one?

This particular 2017 model has just 100km on the clock and looks great in its metallic Magnetic paintwork with 19-inch multispoke alloy wheels and 350mm ventilated front disc brakes with lightweight Brembo four-piston monoblock painted callipers.

It has almost all the option boxes ticked and has RS branded heated full leather Recaro shell seats, a heated steering wheel, privacy glass, sunroof, a rear-view camera with rear parking sensors, cruise control, hill start assist, keyless entry and start, power folding mirrors and an 8-inch touchscreen with DAB audio system and Ford SYNC2 Navigation System.

What does it look like in action?

It looks like so much fun but definitely something that you should not try at home. This sort of Ford Focus RS driving is best left to Ken Block.

Who else drives one?

Lily Allen drives a very cool lime green RS. Matt LeBlanc bought a Ford Focus RS while filming Top Gear. And the most famous RS owner is Ken Block who is a professional rally driver with the Hoonigan Racing Division.

It costs €59,950. What else could you get for the money?

Got your heart set on a hot hatch? You could also have this Honda Civic Type R for €52,500, although it doesn’t have four-wheel drive.

… or how about this Volkswagen Golf R which has all-wheel drive and 310hp and is €10k cheaper?

Democracy = Rule by the people. Therefore when the people speak it can NOT be undemocratic. We have been speaking for some time now and being ignored, now we are shouting. They better listen up before we are forced to roar.

Irelands people will show exactly how they feel at the next polling station. The last governments have let the people down, Joan Burton and Enda Kenny, should know better., they are not listening.

News just in! ….. Irish people are hearing nothing about what is going on in Eastern Ukraine, executions, rapes, artillery bombardments of urban civilian areas. US sending weapons and ‘experts’ to Kiev regime while Russia condemned for supporting ethnic Russians in Donbass.

No news on Gaza since the Israeli attacks…. nothing, silence!

Merkel in Germany rants about the fall of the Berlin Wall but won’t condemn the Israeli wall or the symbolic wall which has grown exponentially between Commission Eurocrats, corporations and ordinary people

A secret international trade deal is underway for ages now in Brussels, completely secret, between the US and the EU called the TTIP (Trans Atlantic Trade & Investment Partnership) sounds very innocent doesn’t it? many claim the contents of which are another systematic attack on civil and sovereign liberties and a race to the bottom in regulation which will effectively hand over more sovereignty to corporations and chemical giants to ply their wears even more liberally on an unsuspecting kept in the dark public

Political Science 101 in relation to Power; ‘System Bias’ – simply keeping issues off and out of the public agenda!
