Motor Envy: Drive away in a drop-top gorgeous Ford Mustang GT Convertible

This Mustang has had some subtle modern updates for 2018, but it’s as desirable as ever.

What’s this then?

This is the iconic Ford Mustang GT Convertible. This particular 2018 registered car can be yours for €56,900.

What’s so special about it?

Well, it’s a Mustang, one of the most desirable cars for motor lovers. And it’s a convertible, making it arguably the most fun iteration of a Mustang you can get.

The convertible top lowers in seven seconds. You have to unlatch it manually when lowering and re-latch when the top is fully up, which only adds to classic, retro feel of the vehicle. When lowered, the car still retains its iconic shape and looks very handsome.

Any standout design features?

For me, the exterior design is the standout feature. That sculpted hood has contours that rise up into the driver’s field of view – beautiful to look at from all angles but especially from behind the wheel.

Around the back, check out those sequential rear lights. The lights were a popular after-market modification back in the day, and became so synonymous with Mustangs that Ford included them on the new models.

And what powers this Ford Mustang?

This version of the Mustang is powered by a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine, paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox. It has a max speed of 233km/h and can go from zero to 100km/h in around six seconds.

Does the Ford Mustang have any luxurious touches?

But of course. There’s a full leather interior and dual climate control plus tech features like voice recognition and sat nav. You’ll also get driving aids such as cruise control, hill-start assist and emergency brake assist.

But who would drive this car?

Who wouldn’t drive this car? If you’re a fan of American pony cars, sports cars, rear-wheel drive or convertibles, you’ll love this car. It’s simply a very desirable set of wheels.
