Poll: Do you believe there should be a formal dress code in the Dáil?

Your daily bite-sized ballot break.

IT MAY BE casual Friday in an office near you each week, but do we expect more of our national houses of parliament?

The Dáil committee on procedure is going to have a debate this evening about whether to introduce a dress code for the TDs filing through Leinster House.

Presumably, then TD for Roscommon-Leitrim South Ming Flanagan’s hemp suit of 2011 would still make the cut under a formal dress code.

Do you think the Dáil needs a specifically formal code though? Suit and tie for the men, business skirt or formal trousers and blazer for the women?

Poll Results:

Yes (11181)
Smart casual is grand (4411)
Let them wear what they want (2612)
