Former garda found guilty of insurance corruption by Wexford court

A FORMER GARDA has been found guilty at Wexford Criminal Court of causing an insurance company loss through deception and corruption, RTÉ reports. John Joe Synott of Camblin, New Ross, was also convicted of knowingly using a document containing a false statement. He had allegedly assisted other people in defrauding the AXA insurance company over a supposed road traffic accident in September 2007. He will be sentenced on 22 June.
