Four arrested over ammunitions haul in Youghal

Four men – agreed between their teens and their 30s – are arrested after an ammunition seizure yesterday afternoon.

GARDAÍ IN YOUGHAL have arrested four men following a seizure of ammunition from a car in the town yesterday afternoon.

The four men were arrested when the car was pulled over and searched in the Co Cork town shortly before 5pm yesterday.

The four men – two of whom are aged in their 30s, with the others in their 20s and teens – are being detained in Garda stations at Fermoy, Youghal and Midleton.

All four are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939.

It is understood that the men involved have criminal links, and that their actions are not being linked to the visit of Queen Elizabeth who will travel to Cork next Friday.
