Four arrested over viable device found in Belfast

Three men and one woman have been arrested in connection with the discovery of an explosive device in north Belfast earlier this month.

FOUR PEOPLE HAVE been arrested in connection with the discovery of a explosive device in Belfast at the beginning of the month.

The viable device was found in a car in the Blackdam Court area of the city on 5 January. Today, PSNI detectives arrested three men aged 30, 40 and 43 and one woman aged 41 in north Belfast. All have been brought to the Antrim Serious Crime Suite for questioning.

Investigating officers carried out searches at nine separate properties in north Belfast as part of the operation , and say they have taken away a “number of items”for further examination.
