Four in court over weapons found by organised crime unit

The four men, aged in their 30s, were arrested early on Saturday morning by gardaí in Kill, Co Kildare.

FOUR OF THE five men arrested in Kill, Co Kildare, early on Sunday morning by gardaí investigating organised crime are to appear in court today on weapons charges.

The men, aged in the 30s, are due to appear in Athy and Dublin District Courts this morning to face charges of firearm possession. The fifth man was released without charge.

Gardaí believe the men were en route to carry out a robbery or business kidnapping when gardaí from the organised crime unit and the emergency response unit stopped the two cars they were travelling in. One of the cars is understood to have been stolen in west Dublin a couple of months ago.
