Dublin 

Africa Day is taking place on Sunday in the grounds of the Farmleigh Estate in Dublin’s Phoenix Park.

The free event is family-focused and free of charge. The event is a celebration of Africa’s rich culture and unity, with performances by well-known African and Irish performers, traditional drumming, dance workshops and sports activities.

Also in Dublin, the Battle for the Bay Watersport Festival 2017 is on between tomorrow and Sunday.

Battle of the Bay is an entertaining weekend for all the family, young and old. Kite surfers from around the world will be there as they weave across the bay. Further information about the event on Dollymount Strand can be found here.

Cork

Litfest – described as ‘a food and drinks literacy festival’ is coming to Ballymaloe, Cork this weekend.

Filled with fascinating facts, inspirational stories, music and dancing, there’s something in store for everyone. Derval O’Rourke, Rachel Allen and Thomas Clancy are among the speakers. Find out more here.

Louth

This one is for the believers…

The National Leprechaun Hunt 2017 is taking place on the slopes of Slieve Foye, Carlingford this Sunday. We all know the myth, of course – that if you catch one, they may well grant you three wishes in return for their freedom. Tickets are €6 and a family of four ticket costs €20.

Limerick 

You’ll find lots to enjoy at the Limerick Racecourse this Sunday in Greenmount Park, Patrickswell.

Organisers are promising food, music and a family funday. Tickets cost €15 and more information can be found here.

Wicklow

One for the music lovers here – the West Wicklow Music Festival is taking place all weekend at the Russborough House and Parklands.

The festival was set up by pianist Fiachra Garvey and will see performances from Quatuor Zaide, Ducasse Trio and Rachel Kelly. Want more information? Click here.

Galway

Want to keep fit and healthy this week? Then this is one could be for you… The Marian Choral Society are hosting their 5km fun run in Tuam this Sunday at 11am. Expect face-painting and prizes on the day.
