The boy’s mother, named as Hazel Waters, has been charged with his murder.

The young boy was the subject of a nationwide appeal this summer, after a Child Rescue Ireland (CRI) alert was issued for him. He was found later that day, safe and well.

Waters is due to appear back in court next week.
