Funeral of Florence Noonan takes place today

The wife of Finance Minister Michael Noonan passed away this week.

THE FUNERAL OF Florence Noonan, the wife of Finance Minister Michael Noonan, will take place in Limerick today.

The 68-year-old former teacher died this week following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She had fallen ill with pneumonia in recent weeks. The couple had been married for 43 years.

Noonan, known as Flor and a native of Kerry, is survived by her husband Michael, and their two daughters and three sons.

The funeral mass will take place at St Paul’s church in Dooradoyle at 2pm this afternoon. The burial will take place at Loughhill in Co Limerick afterwards, RTÉ reports.
