Man breaks into Galway home and pours boiling water over couple in bed

The man is to appear in court charged with assault and burglary.

A MAN IS to appear in court after he allegedly broke into a house in Galway and poured boiling water over a couple while they were asleep in bed.

The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning at a house in Cooke’s Terrace, Bohermore, County Galway.

Seriously injured

The couple were seriously injured and required hospital treatment.

The man in his 30′s fled the scene but was later arrested and remanded in custody.

Gardaí confirmed that a man will appear in court in relation to the incident.

It is understood the man will appear in front of Harristown District Courthouse this Friday charged with assault and theft.
