Three people arrested after gardaí seize stolen property and drugs worth €320,000

Today’s searches took place on the Ratoath Road area of Finglas.

THREE PEOPLE HAVE been arrested today as part of wider garda investigation into gang crime in Dublin. 

Earlier today, the Garda said that the searches targeted the distribution of controlled drugs in Blanchardstown and Finglas.

During the search, a large quantity of heroin and cocaine worth €320,000 were seized as well as a large amount of stolen property. 

This included a large number of high value clothing, an amount of cash, two Rolex watches, a BMW vehicle and a small quantity of ammunition.

Two women – both in their early 40s – were arrested during the searches and a currently being detained at Finglas garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

They have both been charged in relation to the searches and have been released on bail.

One man in his late 40s was arrested and was detained at Finglas garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

He has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions, a garda statement said. 

Today’s search took place in the Ratoath Road area of Finglas and saw local Gardaí supported by the Gardaí’s armed support unit. 

The Garda Dog Unit, the Garda Water Unit and Revenue were also involved in today’s searches.
