Garda appeal over Athy petrol attack

Petrol canister was set alight at the front of a property near Athy, Co Kildare.

GARDAÍ IN ATHY, CO Kildare, are appealing for information regarding a petrol fire outside a house on the Castledermot Road on Saturday evening.

A petrol canister was set alight at the front door of a house at around 6.30pm, causing substantial damage to the door and surrounding part of the house.

A man and a woman who were in the house at the time were not injured.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding the incident, or who may have seen anything suspicious in the Castledermot Road area between 6pm and 6.30pm, to contact them on 059 863 4210.
