Two gardaí arrested in suspected fraud case are released

However, a third person was arrested in Dublin last night in connection with the case.

TWO GARDAÍ WHO were arrested yesterday in connection with suspected fraud have been released.

Last night, a third person was arrested in connection with the case. The woman in her 30s, who is understood not to be a member of the gardaí, was arrested in the Dublin area late last night.

She is currently detained at Leixlip Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The two men who were arrested yesterday had been detained at Leixlip Garda Station in relation to suspected fraudulent activity.

They were both released without charge late last night and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
