A MAN HAS BEEN charged in relation to the seizure of cannabis plants and herb with an estimated value of €310,000.

Gardaí and the fire service attended the fire on the morning of Friday 20 January.

When the fire was extinguished, gardaí discovered 350 cannabis plants, cannabis herb, and drugs and cultivation paraphernalia.

The house – which was heavily damaged – was unoccupied at the time.

Gardaí from the Baltinglass District Drugs Unit yesterday arrested the man in the Newbridge area of Kildare.

He was charged and released on bail. He is due to appear before Carlow District Court on 22 February at 10.30 am.
