Apparently the recruits are still trying to clear the ink from under their fingernails.

GARDA RECRUITS GOT got a more than a little messy today learning how to take fingerprints.

The students at Templemore were taking turns giving and taking fingerprints to find out the best way to take clear and readable prints.

It’s not just the prints of fingers that are taken – the palms and outside edges of hands are also used which may explain how it all got so so very messy:

According to the Garda College Templemore Facebook page, “They’ve been trying to clear the ink from under their fingernails all week.”
