Gardaí seize drugs worth estimated €270,000 and arrest four people in Dublin

The operation was carried out as part of operation Thor by members of the Divisional Task Force based in Ballymun.

GARDAÍ HAVE SEIZED drugs with a potential street value of €270,000 and arrested four people as part of an ongoing investigation.

The operation was carried out as part of operation Thor by members of the Divisional Task Force based in Ballymun and assisted by the Armed Support Unit.

Gardaí from Ballymun carried out a search if a warehouse in the Cloghran area on Thursday. They seized cannabis plants with an estimated value of €30,000, along with a small quantity of amphetamine (analysis pending).

Three men (two aged in their 30s and one in his 40s) were arrested at the scene.

During the operation, a car was stopped and searched and a small quantity of cocaine along with a sum of cash was recovered from the car.

The driver of the car – a woman in her 30s – was arrested and it was later established that the car had been stolen.

The four arrested were taken to garda stations in north Dublin and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 for questioning.

Yesterday gardaí seized cannabis herb worth an estimated €240,000 during a follow-up search of a house in the Kilmainham area.

Two of the men were due before court today, while the woman was charged yesterday. The third man was released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
