Gardaí investigating sudden death of woman (64) in Co Galway hotel bedroom

A post-mortem is due to be carried out.

GARDAÍ IN SALTHILL are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a woman aged 64 at a hotel in Oughterard, Co Galway.

A statement said that the body of the deceased was located in a bedroom at the hotel yesterday at approximately 11.30am.

A post-mortem is to be carried out today at Galway University College Hospital.

The scene is being preserved awaiting an examination by gardaí and representatives of the Health and Safety Authority.

The hotel is understood to be the Connemara Lake Hotel.
