Gardaí appeal for information over death of man in Kimmage

The body of a man aged in his 70s was discovered following a fire at a retirement flat in Dublin; he had been stabbed.

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for information over the discovery of a body of a man, aged in his early 70s, at retirement flat in Kimmage in Dublin.

The discovery was made at around 2pm when emergency services inspected the property following a fire at the location on at Ravensdale Close, Kimmage, Dublin 12.

Gardaí confirmed that the man had been stabbed.

The scene has been sealed off for technical examination and the Office of the State Pathologist has been informed.

Gardaí have asked anyone who may have been in the area of Ravensdale Close in the hours leading up to the discovery of the body and who may have any information that will assist in the investigation to contact Crumlin on 01-6666600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111, or any Garda Station.
